Susan Petersen Sullivan
Susan is Charlie's mother and Brendan's wife. She is also the proud mother of Mac, Harry and Rose. Susan teaches eighth grade civics and social studies in the Chicago Public School system. Susan misses Charlie every day and hopes that the work of this foundation will have a positive impact on the things Charlie cared about most.
Kate Hill
Kate is the owner of Martyrs', Chicago's beloved live music venue, and a driving force behind the foundation created in memory of Charlie. For 25 years, Kate has been woven into the fabric of the Sullivan family's life, a bond that deepened through friendship, community, and a shared love of music. Her own children grew up alongside Charlie and remain close with his siblings, making the foundation's mission feel less like charitable work and more like an extension of family. She has helped shape the foundation's vision of honoring Charlie's memory not through mourning alone, but through and advocacy. Kate's dedication stands as a testament to what it means to turn love and loss into lasting community good.
Mac Sullivan
Mac is one of Charlie’s younger brothers, a proud community member, and CPS graduate (Bell, Jones). In 2021 graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Television Writing and Producing. He currently works in the Film and Television industry for the show “Chicago PD.” In his off time you can catch him playing softball, drinking Old Style, or complaining about the Bears ownership.
Rose Sullivan
Rose is Charlie's younger sister, and a recent college graduate with a BA in Strategic Communication and French & Francophone Studies. She brings that same blend of organizational skill and communication savvy to her role as stage manager for each annual Chucky Ar La Fest, helping ensure the event runs smoothly in honor of her brother's memory. Rose shares Charlie's deep love for the natural world, a passion that continues to connect her to his legacy. Whether she's coordinating logistics backstage or advocating for environmental causes, Rose carries forward the values that defined Charlie's own life, in pursuit of a more equitable world.
Katharine Dobbs
Katharine was born and raised in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. She began studying classical piano at the age of four at the Lincoln Park Music Center which established her early love of music. Charlie and Katharine became great friends as teenagers, and she credits him with introducing her to activism and social justice. That early friendship shaped the course of Katharine's life, and today she carries Charlie's passion for activism and social justice forward.
Dannielle Mendez-Moticka
Dannielle has known the Sullivan family for more than 25 years, and their children have been close since Charlie’s first day of kindergarten. She is an Executive Assistant with 30+ years of experience supporting senior leaders in global organizations. She brings strengths in organization, planning, and clear communication, with experience coordinating high-profile events and supporting fundraising efforts. Dannielle brings that same steady approach to her work with the foundation.
Alana Moore
Alana was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago, and like many other board members is also a proud CPS alumni graduating from Lane Tech College Prep.
As a friend of Charlie’s from high school, Alana enjoys bringing the same passion and love of human rights and social justice that Charlie had into what she does today.
Roan Quinn
Roan is on the art committee. He works as a bartender, musician and in video production. He is a lifelong friend to the Sullivan family and enjoys contributing visual art and designs to the foundation. Roan brings a unique, multifaceted perspective, blending music, visual storytelling, and design in ways that honor Charlie's memory.
Brendan Sullivan
Brendan is Charlie's dad and Susan's husband. He is also a proud dad to Mac, Harry and Rose. Brendan is a novelist, an actor, a keynote speaker and a communication skills and team development coach. Charlie was an active voice for positive change in the world, and Brendan would like to keep that energy moving forward.
Molly Neuleib
Molly joined the board in 2026, having supported the Charlie Sullivan Foundation’s mission since its inception. She brings more than 15 years of development experience in higher education and healthcare, with expertise in major gifts, individual giving, and institutional partnerships. Molly serves as Director of Philanthropy, National & International, at Northwestern Memorial Foundation, where she works with international patients and partner health systems to support clinical research, innovation, and education. As Charlie’s older cousin, she is deeply committed to advancing the Foundation’s work. Molly lives in Chicago and enjoys all the city has to offer including live music and time with her daughter, Bailey, and partner, Mark.
Harrison Sullivan
Harry, Charlie’s younger brother, is on the art committee. He is an artist and a bartender. He creates nature inspired oil paintings and splits his time 50/50 between Chicago and Juneau, Alaska. Through his role on the art committee, Harry helps ensure that the foundation's creative initiatives honor Charlie's memory with the same authenticity and care he brings to his own art.
Ramon Bonifacio
Ramon is a first-generation Filipino and Chicago native. He currently works as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). He spent much of his formative years pursuing shared creative and social aspirations alongside Charlie. From attending the same elementary and high schools to collaborating on music projects throughout their college years, Ramon and Charlie's experiences were shaped by creativity, friendship, and a shared commitment to social justice. He believes the energy and idealism of those years continue to guide his outlook, encouraging him to live with intention and love deeply.

Jared May
Jared is an after-school STEM teacher and multimedia freelancer working primarily in audio production. He serves as the web designer for the foundation. A lifelong creative with a background in music, media, and community engagement, Jared brings both technical skill and artistic sensitivity to the foundation’s mission. Having grown up alongside Charlie’s younger brother, Harry, he’s honored to contribute to a cause that connects music and social justice in meaningful ways.
Nate Mendez
Nate and Charlie attended Alexander Graham Bell School together from kindergarten to 8th grade, and on top of participating in many of the same sports programs together, also shared a birthday. Nate attended CPS from Kindergarten to 12th grade, cementing his love of Chicago and cultivating the values he and Charlie shared. Today Nate is involved with various progressive political organizations in Chicago and still has a passion for social justice.
Brennan Coltrane Quinn
Brennan is the second generation operator of famed Chicago music venue Martyrs’. Him and Mac together spearhead band recruitment for the annual Chucky Ar La Fest. A proud graduate of Chicago Public Schools - Bell School (2012) and Jones College Prep (2016) - he loves the White Sox, Roy Orbison, and the Sullivan Family, dearly!
Lucy Teruel
Lucy was born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago. She and Charlie shared a friendship dating back to elementary school, as well as a deep pride for their city, its people, and the Chicago Cubs. Today, Lucy is a residential real estate agent. She continues to be a staunch advocate for all that Charlie stood for.
